Happy New Year !!!!

Plans are nothing - planning is everything!
This is the time of year where ambitions are high and motivation is strong. Now is the time to do something about all your bad habits! Quit smoking, start a healthy diet, join the local Pilates class, etc. etc.

Why is it, that by the end of January a lot of the good intentions from New Years eve suddenly is no longer actual?

In order to implement radical changes to your life - you need to do it ONE STEP AT A TIME!!! 

If you choose too many things to change as per January 1st, it is very likely that the changes will be TOO much to cope with - and a quick "backfall" to old and known habits is inevitable. My advice:  

MAKE A PLAN!

Cost: Start with one change. Example: Stop using butter!
Activity: Start with one change: Example: Take the stairs!
Smoking: If you smoke 20 cigarettes a day. Replace two cigarettes with fruit. ("smoking fruit")
(Insert your own bad habit here)

It is very hard to change habits and create new habits. If you try too hard - you will not succeed! So my best advice for you in 2011 is the following: Make a plan! If it is your goal to loose weight, increase activity, stop smoking etc.  - then don't expect it all to happen in the first two weeks of January. Make some realistic milestones throughout the year and use these as markers for your succes!
